We are excited to announce that construction on our full-service branch re-build in downtown Bonham will begin soon. At the end of the business day on Friday, September 15, our downtown Bonham branch will close to prepare for demolition. We will open in our new temporary branch, located next door to our Convenience Center at 2228 North Center Street, on Monday, September 18.
Our ATM at our downtown location is no longer available; however our new ATM is available to serve you at our Convenience Center, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Since our temporary branch will not have safe deposit boxes, we have options for you to secure your safe deposit box contents during the rebuild of our new branch.
Before we begin demolition of our Bonham downtown branch, all of your safe deposit contents will need to be removed by September 8, 2023. If your contents are not removed by this date, your box will be drilled opened under dual control and the contents inventoried and relocated to our Whitewright branch. If your box is drilled, you will be responsible for paying the drilling cost ($100) before your contents can be released to you.
Safe Deposit Box Special Offer
We know this transition is inconvenient; however, we have a special offer for you to ensure you can keep your items in a safe deposit box with our bank. You will receive a same or similar sized safe deposit box at a nearby Legend Bank location (subject to availability) with no additional annual rent charge during construction of the new Bonham branch.
We have 13 locations available to serve you. Our locations nearest the Bonham branch include Sherman, Whitesboro, Whitewright and Cooper. To take advantage of this special offer, you’ll need to open your new, same or similar sized box at another Legend Bank branch by Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Once the new Bonham downtown branch is reopened, annual rent charges will resume regardless of where your safe deposit box is located.
We are excited about the complete re-build of our Bonham branch. To preserve our history and connection to downtown Bonham, we have worked closely with our architects to ensure our new bank location maintains the heritage of downtown Bonham and preserves the important history of the courthouse and downtown square area.

After construction is complete, we will provide you with our banking services from one location in downtown Bonham offering you a premiere bank with lobby services for personal, business, commercial and mortgage along with drive-thru banking, ATM and electronic banking services.
