If you’ve ever received a new Visa® debit card due to a lost, stolen or expired card, you know the hassle of making sure automatic payments are updated properly. That’s why we enroll all Legend Bank debit cards in the Visa Account Updater (VAU) service.

When your Legend Bank debit card is reissued or you receive a new card, Visa will automatically send updated information, including new expiration dates and/or card numbers, to participating merchants. Doing so lets you continue to make automatic, recurring payments or billings to your debit card. It also means less stress if your card is lost, stolen or compromised by potential fraud.

What you need to know:

• Participation in VAU does not relieve you of the obligation to ensure that merchants have correct account information on file; failure to do so may result in a declined payment.
• Neither Visa nor Legend Bank can guarantee that account updates will be communicated to merchants prior to the next billing date.
• Merchants must actively participate in this program to experience the seamless transition.
